Biography
My name is Joseph Paul Maxamillion Buehrer. I'm and Art student at Toledo University with a focus in New Media. After I receive my BFA my plans are to transfer over to Bowling Green State University and get my masters in Graphic Arts and Animation.
I was born in Toledo but I've spent most of my life in Temperance MI, which is right over the border.
Ever since I was little drawing has been my passion. I would spend hours drawing the same thing over and over again graudually improving over time. Up until high school I would mostly just draw characters that I had made up in my head, and badly drawn comics starring those characters. When I got into high school I decided I had to take drawing seriously. I began to draw pictures of famous singers and performance artists from photos I had printied off the internet. I would try to get every little detail of their facial features right, slowly developing my technique. Now I can draw a face straight from my head without the need for a reference. I wouldn't say I've perfected my technique yet, but I'm close.
Digital art has recently become an interest of mine. I would say the one thing that inspired me the most to pursue a career in the Digital medium is the film Wall-e by pixar. Visually it's stunning but more than that its characters were able to convey emotions and mannerisms in methods that most hollywood films today do not dare to try.
